Great Reasons to Become a Member Today!

The Pennant

As a member, you receive our highly acclaimed magazine, the PENNANT, published three times a year and featuring in-depth articles about the history and restoration of pens, about modern pens, information about Internet sites, letters to the editor, reviews of pen reference books, information about local clubs and more.

The PCA Library

The PCA maintains the world's largest library of pen company catalogues, repair manuals, articles, advertising materials, and other ephemera.  A listing of the archived material is sent to all members, who may then order reprints at a nominal charge.

Pens for Kids

A few years ago, the PCA Board decided to investigate how to get fountain pens into the hands of children. If fountain pens are to survive in today's high tech world, it will be because we have taken the time to share our love of pens with young writers.  Pens for young users are available at all pen shows.

Paul Erano Named Pennant Editor

We are very pleased to have Paul Erano aboard as editor of the PCA’s PENnant magazine starting in 2011. Paul is a veteran collector of more than twenty-five years and is a strong advocate for the Pen Collectors of America.  You may be familiar with Paul through a number of pen related activities and venues.  He participates in most pen shows throughout the United States and publishes Erano’s Quarterly Pen Review (EQPR), a vintage pen quarterly dedicated to all aspects of collecting vintage fountain pens. Most recently he penned the ‘Collector’s’ column for Stylus magazine, and his writings have appeared in other magazines including The PENnant.  His two books, Fountain Pens Past and Present and Collecting and Valuing Fountain Pens, are known to most collectors, and he is currently involved in his third book project tentatively entitled Finding the Right Pen.

“I look forward to being editor of the PENnant and working with the PCA.  I hope to see its continued growth as more pen collectors of all kinds join us.  With their varied interests, they can help us in keeping the PENnant wide-ranging and interesting and relevant to what’s happening in the pen community today.” -- Paul Erano
